Step 1: With help grab and bearhug animal with force.
Step 2: Forcefully drag to water deep enough for animal to swim in.
What not to do.
Stand beside animal in a distraught state while gently caressing it and pouring water over it waiting for help as it slowly dies. Its just not that effective!
