Spring Babies (Animal Photography)

in #animalphotography7 years ago (edited)

There must be at least a dozen bird nests around the house. They are currently unoccupied but they will be full of life again by early spring. I don't know why birds like nesting on our porch. Maybe it's because we live in a log cabin and they think it's a tree? Either way, I can't open a door in the spring without being careful to not startle the birds.

One evening we had a mother bird fly into the house. One of the dogs accidentally startled her when we opened the door too let them inside. That was quite the scene. Anyhow. Spring babies are cute.

Porches = no rain, is my best guess! I hung big coco-nest baskets of geraniums on our porch last year and a little sparrow or finch built a nest in one...I discovered it when I stuck a watering can into the nest and mama flew out! From then on I had to be careful not to soak the baby birds when watering the plant!

The perks of a homestead. Some of the animals come to you. If you build it they will come. Lol😁😁👍🏼👍🏼
