Sea Turtle in the Caribbean
I came across this sea turtle at the very end of our dive in Bonaire at the site 1000 steps. 1000 steps is one of my favorite sites to dive while at Bonaire so if you ever go there be sure to put it on your list. There are actually 67 steps according to:http://www.tourismbonaire.com/bonaire-beach/1000-steps1
I personally counted closer to 80 or 90 but don't remember the exact number. If you have been there let me know how many steps you think there are. While there are a lot of steps to lug all your gear down it leads to a very nice beach and a great place to dive and so worth the effort to get there I promise you won't regret it! I could not find my photos of the steps leading down to the beach but I will try to post them when I get a chance.
Happy Diving!
I checked my logbook but I can not find anything about how many steps
I can remember it was very hot and heavy to walk the steps with your gear on.
My favorite site in Bonaire is the cliff. Saw 2 seahorses, frogfish and turtles overthere.
I like the cliff as well and the Salt Pier is a must dive if you have not tried it but I think most people have if they have been to Bonaire. I was looking hard for Sea Horses the last time there but no luck! Maybe next time.
What a beautiful photograph. What camera did you use underwater?
Thank You! It was one of my favorites from that trip. That photo was actually a frame grab from one of my GoPro videos taken on a GoPro Hero 4 silver with a shallow water filter and was post processed in Lightroom with a few adjustments. Glad you like it!
That's really great!
My husband and I got to snorkel on our honeymoon and I absolutely loved it. Unfortunately the waterproof case for the camera we had broke just before we left.
I would jump at the chance to go again or maybe scuba training but it isn't a financial priority right now.
Well if you loved snorkeling you will be a scuba junkie if you ever get to try it! Scuba can be an expensive hobby for sure (especially if you buy your own set of gear vs renting) but well worth it in terms of life experiences. My suggestion... Take a resort diving course or what I call discover scuba class. These are usually short intro classes that teach you the basics and let you try diving all in the same day (say 2-3 hours time) and is not that expensive to see if its a hobby for you. Just find a good dive shop and they will help you out!
Happy Diving!
