Zelda the donkey

This is Zelda, she is a wonderful sweet girl. We have been trekking together, and she is a great companion on the trail. In Australia, the best time to go camping is in Autumn when it's cool enough to keep the snakes away, and warm enough that you don't freeze in your hammock at night! Donkeys are versatile. You can take them camping, put them in harness, ride the bigger ones, and enjoy their company like a dog. Donkeys are mostly friendly, and would rather follow you around than eat grass unlike their horse friends. They are quick to learn tricks, and will often chase away unwanted intruders like foxes and dogs. They can be territorial, and I have seen them attack sheep that have snuck through our fence, so you do need to be careful how you introduce other animals into their environment. Donkey trekking is a great hobby, but you should make sure to prepare your donkey properly before setting off into the sunset together!
