TOKYO! - Bitcoin Meetups, Capsule Hotels, and Interviewing Roger Ver.
Heading back into the city tomorrow.
On my last visit I took in @ned's talk and presentation for the Steemit-jp community, photographed some stuff, and took some requests on what folks wanted to see in this big bizarre metropolis. THIS TIME:
Interviewing Roger Ver (@rogerkver) on Bitcoin Cash, Voluntaryism, and the Future of Crypto.
As usual combining everything into one travel-y, libertarian, cultural, beer-infused amalgam of freedom, photography, and philosophy.
If there is anything specific you would like me to bring up or ask in the interview tomorrow, please go ahead and tell me here in the comments. I'll be focusing on some pretty commonly talked about points regarding Bitcoin/Bitcoin Cash, but more importantly, I'm going to be diving into the heart of voluntaryist philosophy and principle, and discussing things in that light, as well. Ver is a fellow Voluntaryist, and is also viewed as a sort of Messiah/Satan (depends on who you talk to) in the crypto space at large. Full disclosure: I am a supporter of Bitcoin Cash, and a radical purist "terrorist" when it comes to Voluntaryism (individual self-ownership). Voluntaryism, is, after all, about the non-negotiable, nature-conferred, objective reality of the right of each individual to his or her life and property!
I will also be attending the Tokyo monthly Bitcoin meetup at Two Dogs Taproom in Roppongi, later tomorrow night, so am looking forward to networking there, meeting some liberty/crypto pals, and buying a beer or two with Bitcoin.
My hotel accommodations. A capsule at the Ishino Onsen Vivi, in Roppongi.
I'm going to be staying at a capsule hotel for economic reasons, experiential reasons, and also because-they-seem-to-have-a-kick-ass-public-bath...reasons. In my 8 years of living here in Japan, I've actually only stayed in a capsule hotel 2 or 3 times. It's always an interesting experience. This place comes equipped with a workout room, onsen, hot rock sauna, and all kinds of other neat little options.

So, in summary, please let me know:
- What you would like to hear discussed in my interview with Roger Ver
- What you wanna see in Tokyo/at Two Dogs
- What you wanna know about capsule hotels
- The meaning of life
Thanks!

I used to stay in capsule hotels often back in my single days. I haven't done so in years... kind of miss it. ANyway, enjoy your Tokyo trip and I look forward to the interview. I am not knowledgable enough about the finer workings of crypto to suggest any good questions, but I will watch with interest when you post the interview.
What do I want to see? Hmm.. give us some more random Japan photos. All around the capsule hotel.
If you want a photo challenge and you happen to have a tripod (or gorillapod), here is one I often give students: Try your hands at a time lapse somewhere (such as the famous crosswalk in Shibuya; which you can take easily from the starbucks overlooking it) and post the results. You can do this easily with the iPhone, but most normal cameras have settings for it too—just set it for something like one photo every 30 seconds and let it sit for an hour or so while you enjoy some coffee. The resulting video is always fun.
Meaning of life? 42, my man, 42.
Excellent suggestion. Time-lapse, here I come.
I’ve ever had experience sleeping in capsules hotel. It’s cheap, clean but noisy. 😆
I actually doubt it's very noisy. You can close the door at the front, and plus, it's Japan! Politeness to a fault is the name of the game. :)
Well I have no idea what a capsul hotel is, so an explaination would be fine!
Expand upon the meaning of life also!
