GC was one of the greatest, most awake comedians that ever walked the face of this planet, and I sorely miss him.
You said: "Now, in certain areas, not giving a shit can be bad."
That is correct. It's a matter of balance and morality.
I would argue that CG DID give a shit. I know that you G.A.S. too. WE ALL give a shit about something. Most GAS about their health. Many GAS about the NAP (NonAggressionPrincipal). What I find dishonest about this article is that it lacks balance and actually encourages APATHY for those who want an excuse for it. It fails to provide how not giving a shit has led to much of the tyranny in the world. Like Edmund Burke is known for saying:
*All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.*
The problem isn't that people GAS it's that they GAS about the wrong things. Who decides what is wrong? If it violates the NAP it's wrong. The problem is a lack of morality, that essentially being an understanding of the NAP and the principle of universal application. The belief in authority (the shiny badges type not expert type) arises from this lack of understanding.
