Public toilets aren't free in Amsterdam, except
Just like many other places all over Netherlands, the public toilets cost €0.50-0.70 per person. Even famous food chains like McDonald or KFC!
BUT, there are places where the bathrooms are free. That is the case for Pride Mark clothing store in Central Amsterdam on the 4th floor.
*There are other Pride Mark locations where they do charge a fee, so watch out for that.
The bathrooms in the train stations are not free. Last time I checked was €0.70, but you do get a €0.50 coupon for selected train station restaurants.
If you know any other free places, please comment below and I will create another updated post.
Thanks!
i was at a bar and thought they were just messing with me because i was an american. this is actually a thing?
They aren't joking. The dutch are very straightdorward.
i mean i just paid it because it's a bar and well, i needed to go. i was struggling to understand it though on top of the language barrier.
it was the one thing i didn't enjoy about my visit there.
