The Tube Amp Factory's 2face 22

in #amps7 years ago (edited)

The Tube Amp Factory describes it's 2face22 as "a low-watt, high-gain amp with a split personality", which can be comparable to that long sought after Marshall head from the 70's that many metal bands sift through Craig's list and Ebay, hoping to capitalize on some poor guitar player who may be down on his luck and needs the cash.

It's appearance is quite unassuming , as it is a smaller head about the size of an Orange Tiny Terror, or Vox's Night Train, but the amount of volume is quite astounding. Hook this little guy up to a 4 x 12 cabinet full of Vintage 30s and get ready to shake the walls of any small club. Paired with three 12AX7 tubes and a fourth in the inverter/driver stage, the tubes are separate from the component boards preventing anything on the board from getting too much heat. The 2face22 has a three-knob tone control and a presence control with a single speaker output jack, paired with a selector switch to work with any 4, 8, or 16 ohm speaker configuration.
