Dupes (fraud) of ₹1.3 crore from Amazon
student who is a class 10th dropped out was caught along with a courier guy. They were employed of doing a fraud of ₹1.3 crore on Amazon. It happens within a five months of span. It happens by allegedly rigging the cards payment via a tab given by Amazon itself.
Darshan aka Dhruva who is 25, also told his friends to order a expensive products and it delivered them without transferring any money. For this crime, 4 youths have been arrested and products which are worth ₹25 lakhs have been siezed. 21 smartphone, a laptop, an ipod and a apple watch are amongst of the some of the things which have been siezed. There are 4 bikes which has also been siezed.
This fraud was unfolded in the month of September 2017 and February 2018. During this period Amazon receives 4,604 orders from chikkamaguluru city. All of the products were delivered by Darshan who was the courier boy.
Naveen Kumar, on March 08, had lodged a complain with basavanallahi police that darshan was cheating with the company and amount was ₹1.3 crore. Amazon had given a digital tab and that would help him collect the money from customers and that would update the delivery related info. The machine had a card swiping unit. The police are doing inquiry as to how darshan had managed to accept card payment and divert the money from Amazon.
