Loneliness
Loneliness calls again,
out of the depths of these four bustling walls - dragging me out.
Out the window and onto the cold, grey street.
He makes me a puppet to the concerns of the heart.
Loneliness takes my hand and we dance - and then I'm okay
Until he drops it and leaves the dance floor and strangely, my heart leaves with him.
I'm an empty shell left gasping for air, aching - wanting no more
Wanting to be whole again, feel again, surrounded by people
but not just surrounded - because I've been places packed full
and yet my gaze meets other empty shell's until we find a common ground.
Until we find Loneliness.
