AirWire KYC Update!
During our token sale, we were required to follow strict US rules and regulations. In order to maintain compliance, our KYC (Know Your Customer) process also fell under these guidelines. These restrictions excluded many would-be users. As a result, users from countries like China were unable to participate in the purchase of WIRE during our token sale. Since then, we have kept those same KYC requirements in place; just to be safe.
One of the biggest roadblocks we’ve faced toward onboarding new users into the AirWire community has been these complicated US regulations. To run a fully compliant KYC process, new users were required to submit an image of their government issued ID and a utility bill with matching name and address. We realize that this can be quite the hassle and has certainly resulted in many people shying away from AirWire.
Up to this point, the utility bill requirement has been a major issue for our community. It has forced us to decline thousands of potential AirWire platform users.
That being said, we have great news!
Since we are no longer in our token sale and no longer selling tokens, it is with great pleasure that we—with the approval of our legal team—are updating our KYC requirements toward a more user-friendly process.
The KYC (Know Your Customer) process has now become MUCH easier and WAY more accessible for more people.
Our new KYC process is simple: This will open up the door for almost every user who was declined previously as well as a great experience for new users.
Now, all you need is a government issued ID and a picture of you holding that ID. That’s it!
On top of that, there is no longer a country restriction for our KYC process! AirWire can now market to and register China’s 1+ billion population along with all the other countries we had to restrict up until now.
Since AirWire is now opened up to the entire world, we expect the floodgates to open up with new users and new partnerships.
So, if you have friends in previously restricted countries, friends who were previously declined due to utility bill issues, or friends who are still on the fence about crypto in general, tell them that it’s now MUCH easier to join the AirWire community!
