JANUARY TO REMEMBER
I am grateful to God Almighty for giving me the opportunity to see another January in good health. I pray that He will give me grace to see many more years according to His word in psalm 91:16.
January is a month I can never forget the work and labour my great mother went through so when January comes like this I also praise her regardless of the actual date I was born because she herself never knew the actual date. But all glory be unto God for a great and safety delivery in January TWENTY FIVE years ago.
I’ve had the pleasure and privilege of knowing a great mother over the last twenty five years. I’ve come to know her in many different capacities and in different ways.
She has been a true mother, great companion and faithful friend. She is always there, ready to listen and attentive, with a great eye for detail, reading your body language as you talk.
She has been supportive and loving, even when I get things wrong. Should I write about the stories of that little girl that you had watch closely and pray to God to spare her life or was it when I was down, you sat all day all night beside my unconscious self and each time I opened my eyes, you were there praying. I remember all I could mumble was
‘mummy, mummy’. Maami, ese ganni. I will not die untimely In Jesus Name.
You brought me up in the way of the Lord and I can recite Psalms and sing hymns in Yoruba, this I still enjoy till date. You taught me to be God fearing. You wake up every day with a song of praise in your mouth and sleep with heart of gratitude.
Mummy, you are the best. God has used you in several ways for a lot of people and I have come to accept that I have more than one sibling.
No amount of written words can express how truly I feel about you neither can words capture the numerous experiences I have had with you. You have been the most wonderful mother anyone could ask for.
Adedoyin Oluwatunmise Motunrayo is saying thank you for everything.
God bless and keep you for me, maami. I love you
