Assalamu Alaikum Orahmatullah, I hope everyone is well, I am also well by the grace of Alhamdulillah. I came to participate in the Agriculture Contest. It is the ongoing Week 4 contest organized by the Steamt team. I'm here to learn something and practice something. So I read the post and learned something and tried to write something based on it. Before I start writing, I'd like to invite a few of my friends here. They are @chant @pandora2010, @damithudaya, @olesia and @stef1. You are invited.

a. Explain the social and industrial roles of agriculture in your country, sighting one of the main grown crop.

My country is Bangladesh, Bangladesh is an agricultural country, rivers Padma, Meghna, Yamuna are all around our country. A country full of agriculture, greenery. A large part of Bangladesh's GDP comes from agriculture, as the saying goes, fish and rice are Bengalis, rice is the main food of Bengalis, rice comes from rice,

the main agriculture of Bangladesh is rice and jute, jute is called the golden fiber for this reason. Various items of jute are exported abroad, everything made of jute is beautiful, perfect and artistic. Jute bags, various baskets, beautiful artistic items are exported from Bangladesh to different countries of the world.

As Bangladesh is a major agricultural country, most of the people of Bangladesh are associated with agriculture as well as various occupations. Also among the agricultural products of Bangladesh is tea, which plays an important role in the economy. Tea is a very popular drink, tea is exported to different countries of the world. The main crop of Bangladesh is rice,

the people of Bangladesh feel more comfortable eating rice, because rice contains various nutrients such as carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals, etc. Which is very important for the human body, so Bengalis have chosen rice as their staple food, easy to cook as well as easy to eat. So for ages, rice has been on the top of Bengali's list of favourites. Also, rice has been playing an important role in the economy.

b. How has this main grown agriproduct helped in reducing poverty and as well promote rural development in your country?

I have said in my previous question that Bangladesh is an agricultural major country, and since Bangladesh is an agricultural major country, most of the people of Bangladesh are involved in agriculture, and some people have chosen agriculture as their main occupation. Each country has a characteristic, each country chooses its own products for economic development.

As Japan experienced massive food shortages during World War II, which Japan has not forgotten until now, they have realized the importance of agriculture, and today, despite being a developed country, Japan still values agriculture and farmers. Similarly, Bangladesh has gone through various adversities in the past, but Bangladesh has not yet collapsed

economically and socially because it is evaluating agriculture properly. The main food of Bangladesh is rice, over the ages Bengali have preferred rice over all other foods, also jute, tea and various vegetables are produced in Bangladesh,

farmers produce crops and sell them to the people of the country and export them outside the country, thus farmers like economic As the country is getting prosperous, the people of the country are getting domestic unadulterated food, and the country is becoming economically stronger and earning foreign exchange.

c. What are the main challenges facing your country's top crops (e.g., cocoa, palm, maize, wheat, rice, etc.) in terms of economic impact?

Rice, the main crop of Bangladesh, is important for crop production, good soil, good climate, and training. However, for the production of rice in Bangladesh, there are always some challenges to be faced. It is noteworthy among these, natural disasters in Bangladesh, which happen frequently, in the past years, it will be observed that

Bangladesh has been affected by various floods, storms, cyclones and cyclones. Notable among these is the Sidor that hit Bangladesh in 2007, causing extensive damage to Bangladesh, displacing millions of people, and causing extensive crop damage. Thus, almost every year in Bangladesh, there is a huge loss of crops due to flood. And flood waterlogging disrupts the production of rice.

Also, people are building settlements on various crop lands, resulting in land shortage, which also poses a challenge for rice production. Moreover, Bangladesh is facing challenges for rice production due to water scarcity, various pest attacks, and lack of training.

d. What current or past government initiatives are boosting agricultural productivity in your country?"

To increase the agricultural production of Bangladesh, the Government of Bangladesh has taken various steps. As in Advanced Agricultural Training, there are training systems for village-to-village training of farmers. Providing advanced agricultural technology and training in its use. Irrigation system is being changed and developed.

Attention is being paid to various research and development in agriculture. Farmers are being provided facilities through various economic cooperation and bank loans. Cooperation is being provided through international organizations. Thus Bangladesh government is taking various steps to develop agriculture and increase production.

e. What solutions can enhance agricultural productivity and growth in your country?

To increase agricultural production in Bangladesh, first of all, seeds should be selected according to the climate, Bangladesh is a country prone to natural disasters, so floods cause waterlogging of cropland which destroys crops, and dry seasons result in drought. In order to deal with these adversities, it is necessary to select seeds that can survive in adverse climate in crop production.

And it is possible to increase agricultural production by adopting improved irrigation system, research and development of agricultural system, training of farmers etc. And that is the solution.

Observations and suggestions:

. Not only would the people of Bangladesh continue with the consumption of rice, but they would also benefit from the job opportunities it offers, poverty reduction, and the improvement of livelihoods. It would also help stimulate economic growth, which in turn brings about development.
. How does rice reduce poverty and promote rural development? I couldn't get a valid point.
. I hope you stick to the question in your next entry.

We appreciate your time with us and hope for your entry in week 5.
