매년 6월 중순부터 7월 중순까지는 남부면의 해안길에 흐드러지게 피는 수국을 감상할 수 있다. 20년 강산이 두 번 변한다는 긴 시간 동안 땀흘려 가꾸어 온 여름꽃의 여왕 "수국"의 아름다움과 천혜의 자연환경을 품고 있는 거제 대표 관광지 남부면을 대외적으로 알리기 위해 매년 수국축제를 개최하고 있다.
