HOT air balloon safari in SOUTH AFRICA ! Bonus beautiful sunrise !

in #africa7 years ago

Hot air balloon was pending on our list for our bucket list for while so we decided to go for it one winter morning.
Glenburn lodge (http://glenburn.co.za/ ) gave us a perfect package which included an hour of balloon ride and a wonderful breakfast after the ride in the calm environment of lodge.

We reached the lodge at 5.30 am , from then their team took care of orientation and guiding. They took us to the balloon take-off site in a minivan where we got safety instructions from the pilot and we got to see how they blow that huge balloon.

This is how half blown balloon looks like

Then we hopped on the basket in the balloon , all ready to fly

We took off with a little jerk, after that it was all great sunrise views, watching lions in the safari park below and clicking pictures .....

Finally we landed after an hour and clicked more pictures with the balloon which we could not take from above :)

This was a different experience and a totally different way to watch animals from the air ! Would absolutely recommend to anyone who is looking forward to do their first ride .
