I think they mostly regret what they’ve done, unless they are insane or it’s case such as Mr.Monkton. However, still deep inside they must feel they did something wrong. You can’t deny your mind.
It must be horrible for any person to find his loved one the way he found his wife. It’s unimaginable.

Sometimes I wonder who are these loyers? Have they sold their souls to the devil as well? Are they that much blindfolded by their profession? Do they have any feelings for the victim?
