Setting Up A Streemian Trail - Tutorial

Setting Up a Trail Through Streemian

There are many benefits to curating content on steemit, least of which is the reward, but also just simply supporting the platform and your peers. By setting up a trail to follow high valued posters, users, and accounts, you are increasing your total reward potential from curation which can be automatically done for you.

To start, create an account on STREEMIAN and verify it. You will have to send 0.001 sbd to the service before you are able to enter your keys.

The instructions are very straightforward. To find the key required to set up a streemian trail see below.

  1. Go into your wallet on steemit and select permissions.
  2. Find Active Key, click "login" to show private. This is the key required to activate a streemian account.
  3. Enter it into the prompt from Streemian.

Streemian offers many services, some of them pay. Trailing is free and once you have completed account setup, you are well on your way to finding individuals you would like to Trail.

Select the services drop down menu and you will see, "Curation Trail" This will take you to a new page where a list of the accounts to trail are located. A search function is also available on this new page.

In finding the account(s) you would like to trail, you will see the average voting weight and the number of followers.

Selecting the account provides you with a menu where you will set the parameters for trailing an account.

That's it, relatively simple. Remember that curation is just as valuable a means to earn rewards on the steemit platform as posting is. Voting on higher valued content means higher curation rewards. If you would like to trail @adsactly please follow the link - ADSactly Streemian Trail

Special Thanks to @xeroc for making the @streemian tool available!

Hi! I started to use Streemian some day ago in deep and is really cool. The possibilities it give us (even curators and content creators) is just great! Having the chance of Schedule your Post is like heaven for some of us that lives in strange timings! Very Good info @satchmo & @adsactly to every Steemian that didn't know about it. I really encourage people to give it a chance and dedicate a time to study it in deep /// in less than 20 minutes you can become a Streemian Pro! :)

Its a good tutorial and all things are explained quite efficiently and yes community and the curation plays vital for you regardless of any issues.

Thanks for commenting - absolutely, supporting the community is essential to steemit!

You are most welcome! sure is

Been looking for this, thanks for sharing @adsactly...

My 1st trail ever. Starting today. Keep it up! God bless! :)

Thanks a bunch!

Excellent info and just what the doctor ordered. I am new to steemit - I started 2 days ago - and am trying to learn and understand how this all works. I'm also enjoying many blog posts. Being retired, I like the idea of being paid for reading good content.

What is the best time to upvote to maximize curation earnings? I have read different things. Some people say 20 minutes. Others 30 minutes. And I see many people upvoting at 15 minutes which is what I just did!

I personally find in the 20-30 minute range. Though ill vote no matter the timing if I like the content. Votes are not just curation rewards but they help advance the reputation of users as well.

Thanks for your taking the time to respond. I appreciate it.

Thanks @adsactly.

@xeroc and @streemian - do we need to give our Active Key? I understood that it grants power to move money around from our accounts, surely only the Posting Key should be required? I'm not confident given what I'm reading but I'm intrigued by the idea, just wanna make sure it's safe! #noobproblems

Im not sure about that exactly - but a lot of people use it with no failures, you can always reset your keys. Currently its the best service available.

Yeah I don't doubt that, just seems a little bit scary giving someone access to making transfers no?

edit. Facepalm. I need to open my eyes -

Active Private Key Requirements

Since new posting authorities can only be added to your account if the transaction is signed by the active key, it is required that you provide either the password or the active private key to your account. However, because this particular key has access to your funds, we have taken some pre-cautions to prevent your funds from leaving your account:

Open Source App: This app is open source and can be reviewed by clicking on the banner in the top right corner
Downloadable App: This app can be downloaded entirely an be run locally using the releases on github.
Key doesn't leave browser: This app is written in such a way that the private key/password doesn't leave your browser. The transaction to change your account is generated and signed in the browser. No further communication besides reading your account data and broadcasting the change is required
No Storage: This app does not store the password or the private key your provided on your computer or anywhere else.
