Learn from these beauty hacks tried and tested by celebs themselves.
The beauty market is always coming up with the latest “must-have,” and while this can obviously be exciting, there are times when it can get overwhelming as well. Sometimes, you just want to lounge around at home and treat your skin to an all-natural product. Thankfully, these celebrities have a few hacks to share. From lip scrubs to face masks to body lotions, here are 5 DIY beauty hacks to try at home:
- Adriana Lima’s Avocado Hair Mask
On an interview with Into the Gloss, the Victoria’s Secret model has revealed a secret to her luscious locks: avocados. She shares that once a week, she mashes an avocado and mixes it with her conditioner. She then leaves her DIY hair mask on for around 30-45 minutes.”It leaves your hair super shiny. I’m not joking! And avocado doesn’t have a strong scent, so you won’t smell funny,” she shares.
- Kourtney Kardashian’s Apple Cider Vinegar and Coconut Oil Mouthwash
The eldest Kardashian sister has always been known for her obsession with anything all-natural, which probably explains why she always has this certain glow. She shares on her website that she makes her own mouthwash: she first takes a spoonful of coconut oil and swishes it around her mouth. After spitting it out, she takes a spoonful of apple cider vinegar and mixes it with water, sharing that it is a toxin-free antibacterial that kills bacteria.
- Priyanka Chopra’s Sea Salt and Rose Water Lip Scrub
The beauty shares to Vogue that one of her favorite beauty hacks is a DIY lip scrub. To make it, one simply has to mix a pinch of sea salt, a few drops of pure glycerine and some rose water. She reveals that the combination leaves your lips plumper, pinker and smoother.
- Leighton Meester’s Mango and Shea Butter Lotion
The iconic Gossip Girl star shares that she creates her own lotion instead of using store-bought ones. Meester puts together shea butter, mango butter, cocoa butter, almond oil, coconut, and some essential oils—ingredients that are known to nourish the skin. I addition to this, she shares that it also smells amazing!
- Shay Mitchell’s Beets Lipstick
We all know that Mitchell loves makeup, but she reveals that she also likes to give her skin a breather every once in a while as well, using an all-natural lipstick made from beets. “I actually do like to cut up beets,” she said. “I’ll rub them on my lips if I want to have a natural rosy tint for the whole day, because it does really last,” she shares on an interview with INSIDER.
