Your child will have fun with tongue twisters at a time when her language skills are exploding!

Materials: Book of simple tongue twisters
What to Do:
- Go to a library or bookstore and find a book of simple tongue twisters that suits your child’s language level.
- Read one of the tongue twisters several times, speaking slowly. You might try “A noisy noise annoys an oyster” or “She sells seashells down by the seashore.”
- Have your child try to say it with you.
- Then have her try to say it by herself. Encourage her to say the whole thing without making any mistakes.
- Laugh with her if she makes funny mistakes. It’s all in fun!
Variation: Work together to make up your own tongue twisters.
Caution: Select manageable twisters so your child doesn’t become frustrated or upset.
