My Actifit Report Card: October 25 2018

So I'm going to edit this in Steemit because I have a story to tell, lol. But YAY Actifit with photos! My thrilling photo today is my bags getting ready to go to Sprouts ...twice. X) I also got some steps in doing my #litterwalk (see previous post).

The story:

So I was feeling good. I had gotten some odd tasks/cleaning done around the apartment, I had done my #litterwalk, I still had energy, so I set off for Sprouts intent on whey, ginger ale, and tomato sauce.

I got to Sprouts, did my shopping, and IN THE CHECKOUT LINE realized I had forgotten my wallet. I normally triple check that I have everything, so that's actually saying what a good, not-stressed mood I was in when I left, but damn I was annoyed with myself. So I walked back home, got the wallet and the coin purse because I was cutting it close on if I would have enough money, and crossed my fingers I could afford all three things after all.

Walked back to Sprouts, picked up my basket where the employee said I could leave it, and got back in line. Now, you may have seen in previous Sprouts mentions and in the photo on this post, I bring my own bags and jars to buy things in the bulk section, in this case, whey. It seems 90% of the cashiers don't know how to subtract the tare (the weight of my container) from the weight of my bought item, and they always have to call a head cashier for help.

The lady today didn't know how to do it, and asked me like she was going to bypass it, "So what's the code?"

I said, "It's 6351, but I really need you to subtract the tare, because it's really expensive ($12/lb.), and I'm really poor."

She looked at her screen for a moment, and said, "I'm just going to charge you a dollar for it."

I said, "REALLY? THANK YOU SO MUCH!" That woman just knocked $6 or $7 off my bill because I had about .6 pounds in my bag, and I only had $13.84 between my bank account and my paypal to spend. I got all three items, and now I have enough to go back and buy Yuan's litter, because I have a $5 gift card to Petco for doing a survey, so his litter will be $5 (+ tax)! That was a huge blessing to me.

It's even synchronistic, because all the way walking back and forth to get my wallet, I was thinking about how if other people were in my position, they'd get the whey and pretend it was soy ($7/lb.) or even flour (I think a dollar a pound or something). They look similar enough. But I just have never been able to cheat like that. I mean, if I get an accidental or cashier-decision break (like today, or if I get home and discover that I wasn't charged for something by mistake), I'll take it, but I've never purposefully pretended to have a cheaper item or stolen, no matter how poor and hungry I've been. And then I get the cashier-decision break that gives me the ability to get what I need for me and Yuan (Maggie uses a different litter than he does). It was like a Universal reward for being honest. I love that.

So, I can go to Petco for litter now ...but on another day. I've already made that trip twice today (Petco is next door to Sprouts). ;)

Then on the way home, I saw a HATEFUL message full of bigotry and ignorance written on the sidewalk in MARKER (so, permanent). I felt like my sacred sidewalk chalk love had been violated with their hate. I was tempted to go back with a MARKER and write a shaming retort. I didn't ...but I'm still tempted. Ignorant fucks.

Maybe I should go back with paint and paint over their hate with fucking indoor-outdoor acrylic. Take that! Of course, it's on Colorado Blvd (the busy street), so if I do that, I might get busted by the popo for graffiti, even though I'm covering up hateful graffiti.

I'll contemplate my options.
