Achievement 3 Task: Steemit Content Etiquette|| by @kontrola
Hola 😁steemians
It's good to write again after I have completed my achievement 2. In this achievement 3 it talks about content etiquette and plagiarism. I hope you find what I have just put down very informative and educating.
PLAGIARISM
Plagiarism can be said to as an act of taking someone's work or suggestion and claiming its yours. Plagiarism has been recorded in many countries like Japan, China, Finland, Iran, Turkey and so on while Italy is the highest so far.
In our present educational system today, plagiarism has eaten deep into the lives of many individuals and students because they have refused to read and are always waiting for their friends to do their assignment so they can copy so easily without procrastination.
TYPES OF PLAGIARISM
This type of plagiarism occurs when a researcher steals the work of various authors in verbatim i.e word for word and claims to be the owner of it. It is also called copy & paste plagiarism.
Source simply means where something is discovered from or how something can be acquired. In other words, this kind of plagiarism occurs when a writer has two sources of ideas or facts but left with only one reference.
Paraphrasing means to reconstruct or rearrange a text or speech in your words without changing its meaning.
In this type of plagiarism, the copied work is not missed in with new ideas but slight changes will be made . It is the most common type of plagiarism.
In this type of plagiarism an individual or author copies someone else's work without knowing that he/she has done so. If this happens by mistake or not, just bear in mind that plagiarism has taken place and will be taken into consideration if one is found guilty.
This kind of plagiarism occurs when an individual tries to entirely submit someone's else's work and presents it to be his or her own without him contributing any ideas to the work. For Example, when an author copies the work of another author just to make money not knowing that the information he/she is trying to give out is meaningless because he is already feeding the society with an existing information which is not ethical.
This kind of plagiarism takes place when you are writing whether knowingly or unknowingly. Many humans may think self plagiarism is not toxic because you are not copying from somebody just yourself but it is so harmful just the way others are. It is also called auto plagiarism.
CITATION
Citation is said to as the procedure or way of referencing a particular work or material to show that the work or material doesn't belong to you.
Example
Steemit is a blockchain-based blogging and social media website, which rewards its users which are the stemians with the cryptocurrency called STEEM for publishing and curating content, and it is owned by Steemit Inc., a privately held company based in New York City and a headquarters in Virginia.

SOME WAYS ON HOW TO AVOID PLAGIARISM IN STEEMIT
knowing that Steemit allows us to share our ideas globally and gets rewarded for our participation in form of cryptocurrencies.
The ways includes;
- Avoiding copying and pasting one's direct quotes into your own work.
- Frequently make use of quotation marks (" ") to indicate that where such specific word or sentence was gotten from and that its not yours.
- Not properly citing sources used to form an article. Text citations and a references section at the end of your article needs to be considered.
- Lastly it is very very important you make use of your own ideas.

Please we should endeavor to follow the the guidelines listed above in case we're using borrowed idea in order not to be penalised.
