Aceh History - Tengku Peulumat Tomb in Betong Village
Tomb of Tengku Peulumat Located in the village of Betong Peulumat District of East Labuhanhaji. Tengku Peulumat his real name is Tengku Sheikh Abdul Karim, he was born on August 8, 1873 in Kota Baru Sungai Tarap Batu Sangkar Minangkabau West Sumatra, from adulthood to adulthood Tengku Peulumat was in his village, as an adult migrated to Aceh and settled in Peulumat, he married and married in Peulumat.
In Peulumat he studied and deepened the science of religion in Pondok Pesantren Daruhan Labuhanhaji which later this pesantren led by his nephew named Syech Tengku Muda Wali Al Chalidy. He studied the Shari'a, the essence and the makrifat. Because Tengku Peulumat is very fond of Tasauf, he lives with Sufi teachings that are people who live warak and khana'ah who do not love the world. Because of the sanctity and the silence of Tgk Peulumat's soul becomes a wali or Aulia Allah.
A lot of things outside of logic happened to Tengku Peulumat like: He could disappear and walk on water and pray Friday to the Grand Mosque in a short time and can return to Peulumat. As the story is already popular in the people of South Aceh that one day Tengku Peulumat went to the fish tax to buy fish. On the way home suddenly he was rebuked by an orphan, because of the reprimand, then the fish was given to the child. It was seen by his wife while angry to Tengku Peulumat.
But calmly Tgk Peulumat said that the fish replace it already there hanging near the kitchen stove is a sea fish as big as calf that is still fresh and still alive. Tengku Peulmat died on August 8, 1943. When his body was put into the grave and when the cloth tied when the neck was opened, the tart of Tgk Syech Abdul Karim was empty - Tengku Peulumat's body disappeared.
