Pemerintah akan membangun 45 bandara baru sampai tahun 2022. Kementerian Perhubungan menilai industri penerbangan masih akan menjadi lahan bisnis yang menggiurkan dalam beberapa tahun kedepan. Oleh karena itu pemerintah berusaha mengimbanginya dengan membangun 45 bandara baru dalam kurun waktu 10 tahun ke depan.
