"Meugreib" in the traditional life of Acehnese
Dusk, a time when the sun sinks to the horizon west of Sumatra, in the Acehnese language called "watee meugreib". Meugreib comes from the Arabic word: "maghrib" which means the west, and is used to state the time when the sun sets.
The time, which separates between day and night, in the traditional life of Acehnese, is a time, which is associated with a variety of circumstances that has become a tradition, among others: stop all work activities and go home, shut the doors and windows in the house, prayed maghrib , attempting that there was not any fuss, no babies crying or screaming, and trying to keep calm ambience, etc.
And all of that is to respect the replacement time from noon to night, and hope to all good as long as through the night.
