RE: Financial Abuse (Types of Abuse)
Money is a great way of showing who people really are and financial abusers, freeloaders and even just really stingy behaviour can lead to a lot of pain and heartache. I think these things happen due to a poor financial education, we're never taught how to see, use and understand money so we sort of formulate our own ideas via experiences or shitty advice from people which usually doesn't end up well benefiting most people.
That's certainly part of it. Some people who abuse financially are really good with their own finances and know finances well, which is why they know how to manipulate others financially. And if we aren't financially confident (not to be mistaken with secure because we can be poor but be on top of it all and know how to manage our finances) then it's easier to detect such abuse or not fall prey. But the sad thing is it can happen to anyone.
