Ugh, yeah that sucks, but at least you caught it early. Do you have a lot of temperature flux in the room? I know some 3D printers come with an enclosure to protect the print from environmental factors like humidity, and air-conditioning?

Enclosures are more pertinent to ABS printing. PLA and PETG don't need the enclosures.

It's currently about 28°C outside, my basement is about 24°. Even so, the print bed is 60° and PLA melts at 200°. I don't know that that would be the culprit.

We're pretty dry right now, not too much in the way of humidity. There's not a whole lot of air moving around in the basement, especially in that corner.
