Writing competition "148" : Pirate Island, the beginning.

in WORLD OF XPILAR21 days ago (edited)

The pirates' island is a fascinating and perfect place to live mysteries and adventures since very exciting things usually happen there.

It is said that the first time the pirates saw this deserted island, they marveled at its exuberant vegetation, almost fainting at the sight of such tall palm trees.

They disembarked on those white sands and enjoyed the tranquility that only the mainland could offer.

Since they had no more resources on the ship to survive, on the island they had to fish in the ocean, and collect fruits they did not know, which they knocked down with stones, and even pulled them from the branches of the trees by climbing on them.

The cold nights and the impossibility of returning to the ships forced them to build improvised dwellings with leaves and logs. Even many caves had to be conquered by fighting against the animals that inhabited them.

The need forced them to look for drinking water and to make fire only with stones, in other words, they managed to survive with what mother nature offered them.

The pirates, feeling comfortable on the island, began to hide what they plundered from other ships in these lands, since the weight of the merchandise, gold and other spices caused the ships to sink because of the excess weight.

They buried chests with gold, money and even clothes in the warm sands, sometimes also in remote caves or in caves very close to mislead other pirates who had intentions of stealing the succulent booty.

The filibusters often returned to the island to fatten their treasures, but they were very clumsy and absent-minded because they did not remember where on the island they hid their treasures. So, one day one of them came up with the idea of making a drawing of the place where he hid what he had stolen on the island, another one was smarter and when he saw this he asked the pirate cartographer for help so that he could make a guide on land to find his treasure, that is to say, a map.

Soon this practice of map making became popular and most pirates began to use the famous treasure maps. They hid them in bottles, trees, under the sand, under their beds on ships, gave them to relatives, bartenders in bars in distant lands and friends to take care of.

Thus, many adventurers in Europe, in the Americas and on the Asian Continent managed to negotiate these maps with charlatans or with some needy person, proceeding in this way to launch themselves to the high seas in search of hidden treasures reaching the islands of the pirates.

But not everything was as easy as reaching these islands, the adventurers had to face real pirates who confronted them to avoid plundering the treasures, crossing caves and hidden bays, finding during their journey wild animals, buried bones, deadly traps, additionally, many charlatans tried to rob them at the slightest carelessness, and even fought with souls in pain who still guarded their great pirate treasures.

Thank you very much for your appreciation @berda01
