Back and Looking Forward - Imprinted by LightCaptured
Finally I have found the right time to post, back from a short vacation abroad.
As it often happens, I had a big backlog of stuff to do but today things are finally starting to look "normal" if there is anything normal nowadays, in our dynamic and sometimes crazy world...
Tomorrow, actually, is a very important day for my country as we are waiting for an official report by the European Council.
This report should give a simple formal answer "Yes" or "No" to the question if our country is ready to adopt the EUR as our official currency.
I don't want to go into the politics but as Bulgaria has been in a currency board for many years, and Bulgarian Lev (BGN) has been pegged to the EUR, this is quite a logical step into the right direction, in my humble opinion.
Interestingly enough, many things in Bulgaria are traded in EUR for many years.
Cars, rents, real estate properties, land and many others...
Many people already had saving accounts in EUR.
As BGN has already been pegged to the EUR, for ages, going full EUR is something absolutely logical, at least to me. Many fear that change, but I am actually looking forward to it. I experienced the hyper-inflation before the currency board was adopted and I don't want to experience this again. It was a real nightmare and I am surprised to see how easily people forget and fall victims of the right-wing propaganda...
Let me stop here, I didn't want to burden you with extra info ;)
Here are a few photos from around Bulgaria...

Well, I'm pretty skeptical, as you might expect from me. But that's because I've talked to people from Western countries who have already been through this. And those who are happy... if there are any from the West, we shouldn't forget that we're in a f^cked-up country here where nothing works properly, so I expect a huge cataclysm during which a lot of people will die. It'll just be easier that way.
Well, it's better to keep quiet about this than to keep upsetting you. 😂
I hope to see more people commenting here from countries that have already been through this, to share relevant experiences that may be helpful. For reassurance, knowledge, or preparation maybe... 🤔

There are still EU countries without euro.. the yes will for sure mean that you go straight into the e-wallet system idea... all the wef/world power ideas (read: restrictions) included.
