Seated Man - Concept Art Sketch

I sought to capture an intimate moment as a concept, to convey the feeling of overwhelm, of the need for isolation.
The lines are deliberately energetic, almost frenetic in places like the hair and shadows. I wasn't going for polished realism, but rather the pursuit of an artistic concept.
The pose itself is a universal posture of someone trying to isolate themselves in some way. By not completely defining the face, the emotion becomes more universal, less focused on the features of a specific individual, and more on the feeling itself.
