I decided to watch this game to day, coincidentally I do not like any of the four teams that played UEFA Champions League today, Arsenal is the one I dislike the less of the four. So I was looking at this game without hardly any emotion, I had nothing at stake, except maybe I like it when Real Madrid loses because a number of people I know are their fans and you know how that goes. I will have to wait until tomorrow to throw some sarcasm their way though, it is raining hard.

Ok, the first half of this game was very boring I cannot say much about it, except that during the first half hour Real Madrid were the marginally more dangerous side, Arsenal just took too long to get the game moving, over thinking what they were going to do. In fact the first Arsenal serious attack I saw was not until after the 40th minute when Courtois made a double save. The first half ended and I thought this would be one of those games where Real Madrid scores the defining goal in the last minutes.

The second half started just like the first half boring, Madrid just waiting out and Arsenal taking too long to put the ball in the Madrid area. But things changed when Rice scored a great goal from a free kick. Magnificent spin on that ball. Of course this goal opened up the game and Madrid tried but they actually could not do much. Then they gave away another free kick and again Rice scored another great goal. I was expecting a Real Madrid come back but instead Arsenal scored a third goal. Very deserved win for Arsenal. Still not through As Real Madrid are specialists in this competition so you just can't discard them, but Arsenal do have a great lead.

Real was playing so bad at the end that Camavinga was red carded with a yellow double for kicking the ball in frustration. I used to see that when I was in high school and played football. At least we had the excuse of being rank amateurs, as for Camavinga, I don't know what he was thinking.
