Swifts

It turned out to be incredibly difficult to capture these ultra-fast birds in the frame. But I did, although a lot of takes were made. Swifts flew in flocks over the temple in Totma.

It's not the first time I've tried to photograph swifts – I tried to capture them at my house, but they fly less often and don't cluster there.

To take a bird close-up is quite difficult. You need a telephoto lens with a very strong zoom, powerful stabilization, and the time of afternoon, not evening.

Or, alternatively, climb the bell tower, hide there and try to catch the birds big.

But this is already a National Geographic Pro level!

Flocks of birds turned out to be silhouettes, but this is also good, since their body shape is immediately readable and easily recognizable.

I associate the sounds of swifts with the middle of summer and hot weather.

Each season has its own sounds...Closer to autumn, only jackdaws will be screaming.

Swifts are one of the manifestations of summer that I really wanted to capture this year.

More manifestations are needed, there is one month left...
