Suspended bridge over Toshnya
Recently, I have become attracted to the river theme, or rather the local small rivers during high water, ice drift, as well as their surrounding area. And in parallel, one interesting topic arose – suspension bridges.
Suspension bridges are built on small rivers. Among these is the Toshnya River in the Vologda region.
I counted nine suspension bridges on Toshnya and I want to capture all of them.
Perhaps I'm starting to explore a new topic for myself instead of dugouts.
Although the word "instead" is inappropriate, as nothing can replace them yet and they are not going to end. So, rather, in parallel.
I've loved suspension bridges since I was a kid. As a child, I first walked across such a bridge to the village, where we would have a cottage.
Since then, I have always been very sensitive to suspension bridges. If there is such a bridge in some place, then I will definitely pay attention to it. For me, this is like the dominant or main object of any area.
If you take my entire archive, then I have quite a lot of suspension bridges from completely different places.
I didn't even realize that I've been photographing suspension bridges all my conscious photographic activity, and it turns out I have a huge collection of them!
Now I want to collect a collection of bridges on the Toshna, and then on other rivers.
Maybe someday I'll bring them all together and show them in one go with a brief description.
I have already filmed this particular bridge near the village of New Spring on a summer moonlit night.
But thanks to this time, I realized that I want to continue shooting suspension bridges and combine it into a project.
But there are millions of them all over the world...clearly more than dugouts
