The first thunderstorm in Vologda

The first thunderstorm, a real one, with lightning and thunder, rain and rainbows, happened already at the end of April. Well, with such a warm spring, it's not surprising! It's a pity I didn't catch a heavy downpour, but I still got a little wet.

The best light is when the sun comes out after the rain.

In general, after the rain, the entire surrounding reality seemed to have washed off the dust – it became more contrasting and saturated.

And with the sun, this effect increases.

I love thunderstorms and everything related to them: gloomy skies, puddles, flooded streets, people hiding from the rain.

It all started in the afternoon with a warm-up session.

The main action was late in the evening, when the thunderstorm lasted for several hours.

But everything went smoothly, without a hurricane or flood.

And those streets that were flooded during the day, so they go under water from the usual rain.

Thunderstorms are not easy to shoot: You get to capture the aftermath, or you're just hiding from a hurricane and a downpour.

I already have certain places in my city where I can take pictures without getting wet.

Moreover, you need to choose busy intersections where people walk despite heavy rainfall.

After all, the process is undoubtedly more important and interesting than the consequences.

...It depends on the consequences, though.

As those who publish news pictures say: we don't have bad weather!

There shouldn't be bad weather for the photographer either, well, that's out of the question for the reporters.

By the way, all my friends, including me, did not believe that there would be a thunderstorm, which was predicted.

And yet it happened! I wasn't surprised.

I hope this summer will bring plenty of thunderstorms.
