This is one foodstuff I cannot seem to like

Three pieces of Dimsum with toasted garlic.

A piece of cake given by my Niece.

My mother bought me a few pieces of this meat Dimsum we locally call as "Siomai" and it is quite a popular street food because you can find it in any place. It is a quick snack and a meal in one because it is composed of ground meat and wrapped in a ready-made flour-based wrapper and steamed.

It is one of the cleanest streetfood out there because it is always inside a steamer unlike other street foods which collects dusts and whatever particles of bad stuff flying we do not see would land into them.

I said that I never seemed to like any Dimsum whatsoever because I find it salty if not bland and I cannot enjoy eating it with rice. Even though I will still eat it if I was given some but I will not definitely eat a bunch. Well maybe because I have a poor appetite and it is always given but if I do like a food or viand, then I can definitely eat more than usual especially if I was the one who cooked the food.

Siomai for me is just like a boiled bland minced meat with nothing special in it. Maybe if they put some other ingredients in it like peanuts or green peas then it can make the taste different and not boring anymore because Siomai in particular is just steamed and very soft, there is no crunch. More often than not my state buds will just detect saltiness and spiciness as it is like automatic to put chili oil and soy sauce mix together with a dash of Calamansi (local citrus) to bathe the Siomai into because again, the taste of the Siomai itself (for me) is not that a thing you can be excited of.

Anyway, my parents were handed-over with some pieces of cake from my Niece. I don't know why my niece brought a cake but she already has a suitor and probably she got it from her suitor or boyfriend. I can't believe that a small toddler running around the house is a lady now. Well, my mother doesn't like cakes except my father which really likes sweets but I was given a piece and that and the Siomai dimsum was my supper last Wednesday night. I only supposed to eat a Mayonnaise sandwich which is my usual supper but since my mother bought me some few pieces of Siomai and a piece of cake, well, I have to eat it.
