I bought a bottle of Marmite which is the Vegemite equivalent of Marmite of UK. It is because it is a good source of vitamin B particularly vitamin B-12 which I needed for my body to function, well normally. I do eat foods which is rich in vitamin B-12 like eggs and fish and shellfish like oysters when my good old neighbor friend gives me. It comes without the shell already and my mother will prepare it for me mixed with some vinegar, onions, and a bit of ginger plus seasonings to make it more tasty. I prepare to eat it straight from the shell but my old lady friend will just give me the small ones which is contained on a plastic bag full of water and it affects the natural salt flavor of the already small size oysters.

It will be a full work if I happen to have the ones that comes in shells because either me or my mother will have to pry those shells open before getting the sweet and nutritious oyster meat inside.

It is a bit of work to get done because we have to clean each shell by scrubbing each individual oyster shell before working on extracting the yummy treasure inside and although it is hard to do it because of the risk of chucking your hand with a knife, it is still worth it because for oyster lovers like me, I really appreciate its unique delicious taste and flavor of Oysters.

For one thing I like the nutrition that Oysters gives because they are packed with protein, minerals like zinc and vitamin B-12 which is good for our brains, nerves, and the ability of our bodies to make healthy red blood cells. All people needs the vitamin B-12 and I guess that people who develops dementia later in life is lacking on this particular vitamin.

It is because vitamin B-12 supports the nerves and the brain is a major nerve which we have to nourish both in nutrients and oxygen all the time constantly for it to work at least for longer so that at old age we will not suffer brain abnormalities which would affect the quality of our lives and the functions of both brain and body.

Anyway, the type of marmite that I used is low in salt because the normal Marmite will provide the normal person's body with at least 25 percent of their required daily intake of salt or something like that and it just means that Marmite is high in salt and people like me with a non-functioning Kidneys which must use it sparingly especially the regular Marmite to avoid excessive salt in my system as it makes the blood pressure high.

I bought this particular Marmite instead of Vegemite because of its better vitamin B-12 content and I wonder despite it is not an animal origin, it is high on vitamin B12 or maybe because of good bacteria present while brewing beer? Anyway, thankfully I do not have to use even a teaspoon of this product everyday because half a teaspoon will already provide me with the aforementioned vitamin already considering that I will not be able to pee-out the excessive amount but only at dialysis.

It is the only time when the extra fluids will be removed from my body along with water-soluble toxins and nutrients which are normally removed because they can pass easily through the small pores of the dialysis membrane and the machine has no control over it.

Anyway, Marmite seems to be more of a medicine than a food or bread filling or spread for me. It is because it tastes awful and on the bitter side of taste too and I guess that I can never build or develop an acquired taste for it. However I will miss it if I will not have it everyday as I plan to use this product very single day from now on because of its important B vitamins particularly its vitamin B-12 content.

The said product is quite expensive because one 250 mL bottle had costed me 525 PHP but because I only have to use half a teaspoon of it per day, it will come a long way for my benefit and it will be for that reason, worth it. Anyway, I already have a good source of B-vitamins and it comes from my Moringa powder capsules along with other vitamins and nutrients which Moringa contains. But Moringa leaves like any other food plants, doesn't contain any vitamin B-12.

Because of that I have to use other sources which will only come from animal sources like eggs, fish, and organ meats, but the things is that I can't have much of organ meats, beef, and even eggs because unfortunately they are high in phosphorus and then I have to contend with the protein by-product build-up which in turn make some feel ill and it is what I am trying to avoid in happening.

That is why I had this idea of using Marmite as a part of my daily diet aside from not wanting to buy vitamin B-complex vitamin because of the possibility of its particular toxicity to my liver for the reason that I do not have a working excretory system and that any small excess will definitely build-up in my liver to cause a serious medium to long-term damage. So the food source will be the good option for me because after all, Marmite is rich in B-vitamins and I am sure that it will help my body in many ways more than one.
