The World of XPILAR - LANDSCAPE/SEASCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY - Cape Vostochny
I decided to enter the contest The World of XPILAR - LANDSCAPE/SEASCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #242 - 8 STEEM in prizes! by @axeman.
Greetings, friends.
Last week, I traveled with my children and grandchildren to the westernmost region of Russia, the Kaliningrad Region. Before 1945, it was called "East Prussia". The old name of the capital of the region can still be seen at every turn, but the former name of this region does not sound anywhere.
Not only have all the former towns and villages been renamed, but also geographical points.
For example, the Curonian Spit.
The Curonian Spit in ancient times had different names used by the Balts, such as Kopos, Kalnai, and Randavos. The modern name of the Curonian Spit and the bay was officially received only in 1985.
My children and I drove along this spit almost to the border with Lithuania, approximately 50 km. We visited almost all the viewing platforms and other significant places.
At the moment, the Curonian Spit is a National Park and you have to pay money to travel to its territory. But this is a small amount, less than $5 per person.
The furthest official observation deck is located behind the village of Morskoye and is called "Lake Lebedinoye". It can be reached via an ecotrope equipped with wooden flooring. Signs along the flooring warn that you can not get off it. Why? I don't know. I was joking, I know the reason for the ban.
Because going down the slope of the protected dunes, a person shifts and carries down several tons of sand with every step. Thus, he does something that even the most gusty wind cannot do.

The Baltic Sea. The Curonian Spit. Cape Vostochny (East). Beyond this cape is already the border with Lithuania.

Friends, thank you for your attention.
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
Its time to clean your sensor :D
Yes, I noticed it too, against a clear light background. At first I thought it was a stain on the monitor, but it turned out that the finger had left an imprint on the lens. It's the cognac's fault. 😢
