The building was built in 1901 by decree of Russian Emperor Nicholas II. It was a government-owned winery.
On June 22, 1941, the Great Patriotic War began.
In the summer of the same year, the distillery's equipment was dismantled, and the equipment of the Krasny Toolmaker factory, evacuated from Leningrad, was installed. A new history of this building began. An interesting event happened—the name of the factory and the color scheme of the building began to match each other—red.
