To stay safe, you need to recognize warning signs and follow security practices. In this tutorial, I will explain Pharming. Pharming is a dangerous cyberattack. It tricks users into visiting fake websites. On Steemit, pharming can lead to stolen keys or accounts.

What is Pharming?

Pharming redirects users from a real website to a fake one. These fake sites look like the original. Users may enter their login details without realizing.

Pharming attacks often happen through:

• Fake websites.
• Malicious browser extensions.
• Compromised DNS servers.

How Pharming Works

1. The attacker creates a fake website.
2. They redirect users to the fake site.
3. Users enter their private keys or passwords.
4. The attacker steals the information.

How to Avoid Pharming

1. Always type the website URL manually.
2. Bookmark the official Steemit website.
3. Avoid clicking random links.
4. Use antivirus software to protect your device.

Signs of a Pharming Attack

• The URL looks unusual.
• Small change is name and address.
• The website layout seems different.
• Login does not work as expected.

What to Do If You Suspect Pharming

1. Do not enter any information.
2. Close the website immediately.
3. Report the issue to Steemit moderators.

Pharming is a serious threat. Always stay cautious while browsing. Protect your private keys and passwords. So understand well before work. A little vigilance can save you from major losses.
