📍 Shangri-La | A place short of oxygen but not of faith
i'm in shangri-la now!!
the place closest to heaven! it's a place where you'll want to go back again and again after just one visit. i'm sharing my super - detailed two - day travel guide with you all.
🚌 about transportation:
we drove to shangri - la by ourselves. the road condition was great! it only took a little over two hours to get there from lijiang.
✅ day 1 itinerary
visit Dukezong ancient town ➡️ have special tibetan cuisine ➡️ go to the intangible cultural heritage experience center ➡️ visit napa lake
✅ day 2 itinerary:
get tibetan - style makeup and costumes in the ancient town ➡️ visit songzanlin monastery ➡️ visit napa lake ➡️ see the great prayer flags ➡️ turn the prayer wheels at guishan park ➡️ dance at the ancient town's sifang square
1️⃣ dukezong ancient town:
we arrived at the homestay at noon, put down our luggage, and then strolled around dukezong ancient town in the afternoon. there is an intangible cultural heritage experience center in the ancient town. you can listen to volunteers tell the history of the ancient town and also experience the intangible cultural heritage project of painting thangka. the whole process is really meaningful.
2️⃣ tibetan - style makeup and costumes:
there are a great many tibetan - style clothing stores in the ancient town. you can go and compare several stores on the spot. generally, the prices range from 68 to 200💰.
3️⃣ songzanlin monastery:
there is a wall of shangri - la on the left side of the ticket office. be sure to take photos and check in here. it really looks great. the ticket price is 55💰. you can drive directly to the entrance of the scenic area.
4️⃣ napa lake:
it takes about one hour to drive around the lake. set the location to "bantuzhifei coffee". this is the mid - point of the lake - circling route! never directly navigate to napa lake❗️
5️⃣ the great prayer flags:
we didn't have to pay an entrance fee when we went there! the wind blows the prayer flags and sways. it really heals our souls. it's so photogenic📸.
6️⃣ the prayer wheels:
it looks great to take photos in tibetan - style costumes here. after taking photos, remember to turn the prayer wheels clockwise three times!
7️⃣ sifang square:
go to the ancient town's sifang square at night and dance with the tibetan people. experience the ethnic customs of the tibetan nationality. at this moment, i truly experienced the great unity of all ethnic groups. it's a life of freedom and passion!
🏠 about accommodation:
i recommend that everyone stay in dukezong ancient town. it's close to the scenic spots, very convenient for traveling, and has a high cost - effectiveness ratio.
the place we stayed at is 📍li'ang · yumuzhiye. it has oxygen supply, air - conditioning, and an electric blanket. it's really comfortable to sleep at night, and it's also very convenient to park! you can even directly see the great buddha temple and the prayer wheels from the rooftop!
shangri - la is really worth it! the local people are very enthusiastic. be sure to make a detailed plan in advance...
thank you for sharing here but I'm not sure if the photos are yours can you share some proof?
