The diary game || A Day Full of Busyness

My routine activities

Today is one of those days full of activities in a foreign land, far from my beloved hometown. Since morning I have been preparing to work at a coffee shop in the center of Jakarta. The hustle and bustle of the big city feels very different from the calm atmosphere in my hometown. But that is what makes this experience even more meaningful.

Morning begins with preparing the needs of customers who come one after another. The coffee shop where I work is quite busy, especially during breakfast and lunch hours. I have to be alert in serving, starting from serving hot coffee, snacks to cleaning tables and keeping the place clean. Although tiring, I really enjoy every process because this is part of the struggle and learning process of living in a foreign land.

A calm evening atmosphere

Towards evening after finishing work, I decided not to go home straight away. I chose to enjoy the city atmosphere by walking along the sidewalks around the center of Jakarta. The street lights were on, the sound of vehicles that never stopped and the cool night breeze made my steps feel lighter. There was a kind of peace in that busyness.

simple dinner

For dinner I prefer a simple but warm menu like boiled noodles and white rice. It may look ordinary, but in the midst of busyness and homesickness, simple food like that can feel special.

Today I learned that simplicity and hard work in a foreign land are part of the journey of life. Hopefully all of this will be good provisions for my better future. Amen🤲
