This morning was a moment full of meaning and happiness for me personally. In the midst of the cool morning air and the spirit of Eid al-Adha which was still warm, I participated in helping in the implementation of the slaughter of sacrificial animals which was carried out at Dayah, my hometown. This is a routine activity that is always awaited every year, especially by residents in need.

This year, the qurban committee together with residents and Dayah administrators slaughtered three cows which were the result of the participation of the sacrificers who had entrusted their worship to the committee of my village. Since morning, the committee and volunteers began arriving at the slaughtering location. We started the activity by cleaning the area and preparing the equipment needed there. Alhamdulillah, the atmosphere full of the spirit of mutual cooperation was very thick, considering that everyone who attended came with the same intention to share and do for others.

I also participated in various parts of the work, starting from arranging the queue of animals, helping the slaughtering process according to sharia to cutting the meat. The committee divided the tasks fairly and justly. Some were in charge of skinning, some were in charge of cutting the meat and bones and some were in charge of distributing it into plastic bags to be distributed to residents who had been previously registered.

The whole process went smoothly. We all worked together and helped and looked after each other. The atmosphere felt peaceful but also warm with laughter and jokes from volunteers who encouraged each other. In the midst of activities like this, I feel very grateful because I can be directly involved in social activities that are so beneficial to the community, especially for the underprivileged who are really looking forward to this qurban meat assistance.

After all the meat was cut and packed, we continued the distribution process together. The committee had prepared a list of recipients from various hamlets in our village. And then we went through the residents' houses one by one to hand over the qurban meat directly, including to several widows', elderly and orphans' houses. Seeing their smiles when receiving the qurban meat made our tiredness disappear instantly

Activities like this are not only about sharing meat but also about strengthening the bonds of brotherhood, fostering a sense of social awareness and re-sowing the spirit of mutual cooperation that we have rarely felt in an era like this. I feel proud to be able to take part in a blessed moment like this. Hopefully activities like this will continue from year to year, and can even be better in the future.

At the end of this activity, we sat together while enjoying simple dishes that had been prepared by the mothers from the public kitchen. The friendly and family atmosphere was very much felt. I went home with a heart full of gratitude and happiness, because I could live this day meaningfully with the people I respect and love in my beloved hometown.
