Hello friends of this beautiful community!

This Sunday I was in Ferrara, a beautiful city of art, which is located in Emilia Romagna and that I had already had the opportunity to visit in the past, but I took the opportunity to take another tour here, and visit two museums that I think are very interesting in this small city and that I also recommend you visit if maybe one day you happen to be in those parts.

I arrived early in the morning and I was also able to park quite comfortably in the center of the city, and as a first stop I visited the Ferrara art gallery which is located inside an important Palace called the Diamonds, which takes its name from how this architectural complex was built.

There I visited completely free of charge since it was the first Sunday of the month and the state museums are all free, the Ferrarese school that is paintings that go from 1200 to 1600 approximately by exponents of the Ferrarese school of painting but I was also able to admire the interiors of this important palace.

Then I headed towards the center and I was able to admire the beautiful Estense castle that I recommend you visit inside and that I have already visited some time ago, but in particular I stopped for the first time in via delle volte which is practically one of the few remaining medieval streets of Ferrara, a path suspended in time between shadows and mysteries and Unfortunately until a few years ago this was a somewhat infamous street where prostitutes were present.

Then, I headed to the National Archaeological Museum of Ferrara virgole which is located inside an important architectural place that Palazzo Costabili, but beyond being fascinated by this palace with its gardens that are very beautiful to see, I was able to discover inside the museum the history of one of the oldest Etruscan cities in Italy which is that of Spina and which was discovered again by chance in 1922 thanks to the reclamation that took place in this area of Italy.

Then I couldn't miss a stop as I was telling you in the common and visitable parts of the Estense Castle, But I also visited for the first time the Foschini roundabout, a small oval courtyard located practically inside the Teatro Comunale of Ferrara which by the way has been recently restored.

As a final stop of my visit to Ferrara, I visited the cathedral of San Giorgio which is the most important church in this city, which you know was hit by the earthquake of 2012 and that this church like other places in Ferrara are still under restoration and its recovery is expected not before 2035.

I was very satisfied with my visit to Ferrara, a city that gives you art and mystery history, without practically spending a euro. Also because as I always say the most beautiful things are always free and are right in front of our eyes
Of course I will make specific posts about what I saw and I will give information about how to visit and the entrance ticket, very useful things for tourists.

See you in my next post and I wish you all a good week!!

Pretty interesting that fact of free charge from museums at the first Sunday of each month during the year, so knowing this everyone can enjoy all of them in this opportunity. Only possible in Italy 🇮🇹
