Coles, Curtin, Canberra

When it comes to groceries, Coles is one of my "go-to" retailers when in Australia. I have done some research about their retail outlets all allover the country and found they have 1800 in this country with a staff strength of 120,000.

I visited the Coles Curtin store on my bike, and as it was a working day before a long Easter weekend, there were not too many customers. Otherwise, also, there are never too many customers, barring weekends, as most Australians order groceries online.

They do not have too many personals on their counters, but as they deal with 8,000 suppliers and have millions of customers through their stores and supply to homes every week, that sounds amazing because Australia has a small population of around 25 million .

Undoubtedly they are one of my most trusted retailers in Australia, along with Woolworths and Aldi, but Coles remains my number one.

They say their purpose is helping Australians eat and live better every day. But I feel as if I go to this particular store during noon because there is a post office close to this store, and I have to dispatch my official mail. Most of the time I use my bike, as it gives me some workout time.

Coles is a national supermarket retailer operating online as well, providing an "anytime, anywhere" shopping service, offering home delivery, including same-day, overnight, and pickup from Click & Collect locations, and one-hour service with a deal, "If they miss any item ordered by the customer, they pay double the amount."

Coles Online also provides their services to various business customers, like hotels, etc.

They are in other businesses too, but here I will talk about supermarkets. As Australians are fond of different brands of homemade and foreign brands of liqueurs, they cater to their needs by providing their services for drinking in a responsible and sustainable manner.

Undoubtedly, Coles are drinks specialists, with their liquor groups and extensive range of wines, spirits, and beers, both local and relevant products from different countries at a reasonable price at 950-plus stores and online.

Coles runs a sales promotional scheme, "Flybuys," which is considered Australia's most popular loyalty program. As one of the nine million members of the Flybuys program scheme, I have taken full advantage of it during my stay in Australia.

The Coles stores carry from 15,000 to 60,000 items depending on the size of the store, city and locality, offering deli, bakery, pharmacy etc.

They have common car parking and bike parking just outside the store and have a beautiful sitting arrangement for the local community.
