Greetings and welcome to my blog. Today am glad to be a part of this week’s challenge on salads of the world and this week we are making Russian salad. Let’s dive in and explore this beautiful learning process.

- Sweet potatoes

- Mayonnaise

Procedure
Step 1: I washed the potatoes, carrots and green beans. I cooked the potatoes for a little while ensuring it’s not soggy | ![]() |

Step 2: I also boiled the carrots and the green beans briefly while eating them maintain their crunchiness. | ![]() |

Step 3: I boiled the egg until it’s well cooked | ![]() |

Step 4: I sliced all the potatoes, carrots, green beans and the eggs into pieces.

Step 6: I prepared the dressing in a separate plate and then mixed it with the salad and added the egg.

In my country, I have seen this salad made though not very often and it’s often called the potato salad because of the potato that was basically used as its base. There are alot of variations that had been adopted for this salad. For example, more ingredients at added to it more than the ones we used. They add other ingredients such as onions, cucumber, sweet corn to the Salad mix to give it varies feeling.
I loved this salad very much. It met my expectations and more. I really enjoyed making and eating it. This is my first time of making a Russian salad. The process was very easy and I enjoyed it. The flavour of the salad was very nice. The salad was crunchy and sweet and I enjoyed it so much.

- it’s a good source of minerals like magnesium, potassium and calcium and helps in weight management

- Carrots are rich course of vitamin A and vitamin A is good for the eyes and also helps for a healthy skin and boosts the immune system.
- Contains anti oxidation properties thereby helping to reduce the damage of cells and inflammation.
- Since it’s good for skin health, it also helps to reduce aging.
- It contains potassium thereby helps to regulate the pressure of the blood.
- Carrots are a good source of fiber hence are satiates and help to support digestion.
