🇵🇱🥔 Placki Zbójnickie (Bandit Potatoe Pancakes) - veggie version of Polish meal 🇵🇱🥔

Intro


Starting with saying that you will spend few hours in the kitchen while preparing this meal may not be the most inviting into. Counting the cost of the meal may be equally disturbing, but there are some meals which are worth preparing no matter what. The heavenly delicious, comforting tastes will remain with you for much longer than just during the meal and I guarantee you will miss my placki so quickly that in a week or two you will be looking for this recipe to make them once again.

Ingredients (5 plates)


🥔 3 kg of potatoes
🥔 2 eggs
🥔 1/2 cup of flour
🥔 2 onions
🥔 2 paprikas
🥔 1 can of peas
🥔 1 can of corn
🥔 2 zuckinnis
🥔 3 cloves of garlic
🥔 1 can of tomatoes without skin
🥔 1 can of tomato puree
🥔 1 can of beans
🥔 3 stock cubes
🥔 150ml of cream
🥔 Oil
🥔 Salt, pepper, chilli, paprika, other spices


1️⃣ Peel the onion and grater it on the smallest grater. It should remind the puree. That activity includes crying like a baby.


2️⃣ Peel, wash and grate potatoes. Also use the smallest grater, so it will look a bit like puree. Watch out for your fingers, it's easy to hurt yourself while making it.


3️⃣ Clean and cut the paprikas. I like to make the long slices and cut it in three but the size is up to you. Paprikas are the main ingredient of this meal so it's impossible to skip them.


4️⃣ Cut another ingredients. I used zucchini which I cut into small cubes but it's up to you what you want to add. I used to prepare this meal with champignons, other mushrooms, with carrots, tofu, chicken, eggplant.


5️⃣ Fry the paprika and zucchini with a bit of powdered paprika and salt.


6️⃣ In the separate pot boil tomato puree with stock cubes, smashed garlic and all ingredients from the cans. Add spices. The meal originally should be spicy, so you may consider adding plenty of chilli as well as much of powdered paprika. If you don't like spicy food, feel free to add the spices you like instead.


7️⃣ In the last moment, add to the pot fried paprikas and cream, mix everything well and boil for 1 minute more. The sauce is ready.


8️⃣ Remove the water from the potatoes. To do it, soak puree with the paper towels. You may need to repeat this activity few times. The drier pulp, the better.


9️⃣ Soak the onions. That's much easier, you may use the spoon to do it. Do not remove the juice from the onions. Mix it with honey and a bit of pure alcohol to prepare natural medicine for the flu. Store the medicine in the fridge. It's disgusting, but works very well.


1️⃣0️⃣ Mix potatoes, onions, flour and eggs, add salt.


1️⃣1️⃣ Heat the oil in a pan. Add few spoons of the potatoes mix and form thin pancakes. Deep fry them 2-3 minutes each side until they will get slightly brown.


1️⃣2️⃣ Put fried pancakes on the paper tower to remove part of the pat. Serve hot, covered with the sauce. I'd recommend to use some parsley to decorate, unfortunately didn't have any at home so it's not included on the photos.
