In 1972, Apollo XVII was launched in what would be NASA's last manned trip to the Moon, astronaut Eugene A. Cernan being the last of twelve human beings who have had the privilege of walking on the surface of the Moon.

En 1972 fue lanzado el Apollo XVII en el que sería el último viaje tripulado a la Luna por parte de la NASA, siendo el astronauta Eugene A. Cernan el último de los doce seres humanos que han tenido el privilegio de caminar sobre la superficie de la Luna.

For almost 50 years, human beings lost interest in visiting our satellite and there have even been and still are people who still do not believe that the images of the moon landing are true but that they have been shot in a studio within the famous area 51.

Durante casi 50 años el ser humano perdió el interés por visitar nuestro satélite e incluso hubo y sigue habiendo gente que sigue sin creerse que las imágenes del alunizaje sean ciertas sino que han sido rodadas en un estudio dentro de la famosa área 51.

Now it seems that momentum has been picked up again and it seems that a worldwide interest has arisen to set foot on lunar soil again, either out of nostalgia, interest in mining helium-3 or to use it as an experimental step prior to the colonization of the planet Mars.

Ahora parece que se ha vuelto a tomar impulso y parece que ha surgido un interés mundial por volver a pisar suelo lunar, ya sea por nostalgia, por el interés en minar el helio-3 o para utilizarlo como paso experimental previo a la colonización del planeta Marte.

Artemis is a space flight program carried out by NASA, space agencies from other countries such as ESA (EU), JAXA (Japan), CSA (Canada), ASA (Australia) and private companies such as SpaceX, in order to return to visit the Moon carrying what will be the first woman to step on the Moon, specifically in a region of the south pole by the year 2024.

Artemisa es un programa de vuelo espacial llevado a cabo por la NASA, agencias espaciales de otros países como ESA(UE), JAXA(Japón), CSA(Canadá), ASA(Australia) y compañías privadas como SpaceX, con el fin de volver a visitar la Luna llevando a la que será la primera mujer en pisar la Luna, concretamente en una región del polo sur para el año 2024.

The final objective of the Artemis project, which curiously bears the same name as Apollo's twin sister goddess, is to lay the foundations for the construction of a permanent base on our satellite that can later be used to undertake the conquest of Mars from there.

El objetivo final del proyecto Artemisa que curiosamente lleva el mismo nombre que la diosa hermana gemela de Apolo, es sentar las bases para la construcción de una base permanente en nuestro satélite que podrá ser utilizada posteriormente para emprender desde allí la conquista de Marte.

The mission will carry a light vehicle to move around the site, a habitable mobile platform for trips farther from the base and the modules that will constitute the "houses" of the future Selenites that will allow short stays for 4 crew members.

La misión llevará un vehículo ligero para moverse alrededor del sitio, una plataforma móvil habitable para viajes más lejos de la base y los módulos que constituirán las "casas" de los futuros selenitas que permitirán estancias cortas para 4 tripulantes.

All this will allow exploring the resources of the moon and seeing their possible exploitation as well as solving the habitability problems that may arise, before sending manned missions to Mars, which is much further away and weekend getaways cannot be made.

Todo esto permitirá explorar los recursos de la luna y ver su posible explotación así como ir resolviendo los problemas de habitabilidad que se presenten, antes de enviar misiones tripuladas a Marte que está mucho más lejos y no se pueden hacer escapadas de fin de semana.
