Holy Place - Darul Falah Grand Mosque

Darul Falah Grand Mosque Langsa City, is a religious symbol that stands majestically and firmly in the middle of the city crowd. From morning until night, this mosque is always crowded with Muslims who come to fulfill the call of the Creator in a calm atmosphere emitted from the building that stands on an area of 45 x 45 meters.

Brief History

The beginning of the Darul Falah Grand Mosque was a small mushola measuring 8 x 8 meters that was built in 1942. Created by traders at the Langsa Market, this mushola initially functioned so that traders could perform prayers without having to move away from where they traded. Over time, in 1948, the traders expanded the prayer room to 16 x 16 meters and added eight domes.

A major change occurred in 1964 when the government of East Aceh, before Langsa was divided, turned the building into the Darul Falah Grand Mosque. Until 2023, the last renovation was completed by the government and the mosque now looks more beautiful and luxurious which has become an iconic building as one of the largest and oldest mosques in Langsa City.

Building Function and Beauty

Darul Falah Grand Mosque does not only function as a place of worship. Today, the mosque is also a center for Islamic studies for people of all ages, from children to adults. These activities are regularly held on certain nights, making the mosque an inclusive place of religious learning.

The architectural form of the outer mosque building is very enchanting, highlighting the white color as a symbol of purity combined with a touch of gold as a form of beauty and luxury in the dome. The interior of the building is also very graceful with the appearance of Arabic ornament-style walls in the mihrab and modern polish throughout the interior of the building.

The toilet is located next to the ablution area on the right side of the back of the mosque, and is very clean
