A moment of pure happiness shared on the back of a camel, looking towards the azure horizon of Hammamet

Hello dear Steemians,

Among the most vivid and unexpected memories of our stay at the Hotel Hawai in Hammamet, there was this unique experience that the three of us shared, my two sons and I, on the back of a camel, along the golden beaches, in an atmosphere mixing laughter, sun and wonder, it was not an activity planned in advance, but rather a surprise of the moment, proposed by a smiling camel driver, wearing a large straw hat, who kindly invited us to take a ride for 40 Tunisian dinars.

The camel driver, smiling and reassuring, offers us the adventure for 40DNT(=92steem)

So, our feet still full of sand, we climbed onto the wide saddle of the dromedary, one behind the other, the amazed gaze of my children betraying a mixture of pride and gentle worry, the sun was shining high, the sea shimmered a hypnotizing blue, and the light wind caressed our faces as the camel moved slowly forward, its undulating gait adding an almost comical but also majestic aspect to our walk.

The first moments: joy, pride, and the excitement of a discovery.
Throughout the journey, the smiles never left us.

Each step of the camel brought us a little closer to the horizon, and for a suspended moment, we were just three complicit beings, laughing, admiring the sea, listening to the joyful cries of the bathers in the distance, I took advantage of this moment to capture a few shots, including one particularly striking: the one where, all three of us lined up, we seem to slide through time, rocked by the rolling of the animal.

Another view during the tour, the children hanging on, smiling and curious.
The silent guide of our walk, with a slow but assured step.

But it was at the end of the ride that the scene took an unexpected turn: as the camel began to kneel to let us descend, my two sons were a little surprised by the abruptness of the movement, one of them almost fell forward under the shock of the descent, and the other, seized by panic, began to scream, fortunately, more from fear than harm, but the scene, which I was able to film live, remains memorable for the mixture of humor and fear that it gives off.

Video: The brutal but funny end of our walk. Laughter, panic, and memories guaranteed.

Despite the scorching sun, the enthusiasm never falters.
Each shot bears witness to the father-son bond in this extraordinary adventure.

Looking back, it's not so much the walk itself that marks me today, but those moments of complicity, the glances exchanged, the little fears shared, and that rare feeling of experiencing something authentic with my children, the sand, the camel, the shouts and the laughter are only the backdrop for a memory that I will keep preciously, so that of a true, simple, and profoundly human moment.
