Hello Steemian friends! On this occasion, I would like to share my experience visiting the IAIN Lhokseumawe Postgraduate building. My visit this time aims to take care of some administrative needs related to the thesis research proposal permit. So let's take the opportunity to review this campus thoroughly.

Days and hours of operation: Monday and Friday from 07:30 to 16:45 West Indonesia Time, Saturday and Sunday adjusted to the conditions of lecture hours.

Previously, the old IAIN Lhokseumawe Postgraduate building operated in Lancang Garam Village. However, since the completion of the construction of the new building, lecture activities were moved to locations around the IAIN Lhokseumawe campus.

Before becoming the Postgraduate building, this location used to be a swamp around the campus. Now, this building has been transformed into a large and magnificent building that was completed in early 2024 and has functioned as a lecture hall since then.

Building Design and Architecture

From the outside, this building has an attractive view with a combination of green, yellow, and red colors. Although I don't know the exact meaning of the colors, I feel that this design reflects the distinctive features of Aceh's doors. In addition, the building is also equipped with a lot of glass, which allows us to enjoy the beautiful view from inside the building.

Entering the Building

The building has several entrances from each corner, but the front door of the building is more special than the others. I entered the building through the main door made of two large pieces of glass, which opened automatically thanks to the sensors on it. This automatic door gives the building a modern and sophisticated feel.

In the main lobby, there are banners displaying the study programs offered at this campus. The lobby room is also equipped with several chairs and tables as a waiting room.

Study Programs

IAIN Lhokseumawe Postgraduate Program offers several master study programs, including:

• Islamic Communication and Broadcasting
• Islamic Education Management
• Islamic Religious Education
• Islamic Family Law
• Sharia Economics

For the doctoral program, there is currently one study program available, namely the Doctor of Islamic Studies. The tuition fee per semester for the master's program is 5,000,000 IDR or around 2272 Steem, while for the doctoral program it is 8,000,000 IDR or around 3636 Steem (Calculated based on Steem price on Saturday, March 29, 2025).

Study Room and Lecture Schedule

The facilities on this campus are very complete and modern, with study rooms equipped with large TV screens, special tables, and comfortable chairs. All study rooms are also equipped with air conditioning.

The first floor consists of special study rooms for master students, mushalla, and the main lobby room. While the second floor is used specifically as an administration room, courtroom, library room, deputy director's room, head of study program room, and special study rooms for doctoral students.

Most of the students who take part in S2 and S3 study programs are students who have been actively working in an agency, so the lecture schedule is held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting from morning to evening. On Mondays and we, there are no lecture activities at this campus, except for administrative purposes.

Personal Experience

I myself have been undergoing the lecture process in the new IAIN Lhokseumawe postgraduate building for more than a year, I have been studying on this campus since entering the second semester and of course I feel very comfortable following lectures here.

The lecturers here are very friendly and have extensive knowledge in the scientific fields they master. In my opinion, this campus has tried to become one of the modern and best educational institutions in Lhokseumawe City.

However, there are some things that make me feel less satisfied from the facilities on this campus because there is no small canteen around the campus location, when we start to get thirsty and feel hungry we are forced to go outside the campus which is quite far on foot.

In addition, providing business units such as mini photocopies and stationery in my opinion also needs to be provided to make it easier for students if they have special assignments that they must print.

Thus my review of this campus and my experience while studying at IAIN Lhokseumawe Postgraduate Program.
