Relationship between investment and earning on steemit
Firstly I will like to clarify the misconception about what investment is all about and if you are a new user, this goes emphatically for you. It is very common that whenever we hear about a business that requires some amount of investment, we are quick to dodge from it or go all 100% skeptical, especially when the investment has to be installed upon beginning the business.
This is not totally wrong as every one deserves to scrutinize whatever they want to get into. However, for others, they objectively detest the word invest, some of this is due to the fact that some people in the past have failed to be able to make a profitable return on their investment which may have resulted from many factors such as inadequate research and understanding of the business and investment requirement they are committing to, financial limitations also contribute as a major excuse to people's hesitant behavior when it comes to investing on the internet especially in decentralized surroundings.
I titled this post because of the juxtaposition of the understanding that usually accompanies the term investment in our heads and originally. Majority of users think investment is only monetary, this post is to try to enlighten those users in developing the right thinking and approach to investing on steemit.
Now that we have a clearer understanding about what investment is and could be, then we can establish a fine relationship between steemit, investment and the type of investment steemit requires.
A lot of people say steemit is a social media, I nod my head and scoff, some say it is a crypto-network, hmn, nod my head and scoff, some also say outrightly that it is a money making machine, that's just funny. Amongst all the ideas and definitions people came up with, I finally had one I could hold on to, which was, 'A blogging crypto-social network'. But I could only hold on for a little while because it didn't fulfil all the experiences I'd been having on site.
The platform runs like a real life community of different sorts of activities, to call it a blogging site alone is like saying a community has only one bread making factory in the entire place, meanwhile, there are actually over 1,000,000 people and bots hustling with you, it's like two New York's joined together with only one small scale bread making factory . It just doesn't fit. Moreover I know cryptocurrency traders who own a lot of Steem in steempower because they know the metrics and advantage of delegation and curation rewards that come with it, and are on the platform only for that, hence that cuts the platform off as social media site with crypto-network.
I've spent a little bit over 7 months on steemit, excuse me I live on steemit now, yet it only recently occurred to me what steemit is and I'm glad to let everyone know.
Steemit is a crypto-social investment platform
A system designed to have users invest value and get rewarded for it. Steem is the cryptocurrency that is mined from the Steem blockchain as a form of reward to users who invest value in the blockchain through platforms like steemit.
The part where a lot of new users get it wrong is the understanding and investment of value. Throughout my time on steemit, I've seen a lot of value, I see value everydayoh my gawd!, but you know what I see more? The rewards for the value and I cannot help thinking about how to add value to people every night before I close my eyes and even whilst they're shut, they are wide open in my head still thinking about how to be of and add value.
To be continued in the next post
Yes you are right. Social media on steroids more like it. It's a blogging social site where you get rewarded in crypto. We all live on it now. Our thoughts are all around the next post and what we can do to add value.
